Stained Glass Workshops :: Constructing a Panel Lamp

During the workshop students will learn important considerations about choosing glass, deciphering a pattern as well as selecting & modifying patterns for future projects. The instruction will cover the importance of cutting & grinding; soldering the panels with the use of a jig; bringing the shade together; tinning and installing vase caps; working with crowns & spiders; as well as tips on selecting a proper lamp base.

Students will have the opportunity to see lamp making tools in use. This is an excellent workshop for the first time lamp builder or anyone who has experienced the frustration that building a lamp can bring. If you've ever found yourself saying. "There must be a better way!" ... there is.

During this three session class students will have the opportunity to make their own mid-sized six panel table lamp from a variety of instructor provided patterns. Limit 6 students.
