Classes/Workshops Workshops :: The Next Step
This class is designed to pick up where the beginner’s class left off. It was created to give the student more insight into the designing and planning of a project ~ particularly a project that is being installed in an existing opening in a door, window, sidelight, transom, etc. This intermediate class is perfect for graduates of our beginner’s course or the hobbyist who has some experience, but would still like some professional advise when tackling a larger project. Instruction will be provided in design considerations, color selection, proper framing & reinforcing, as well as pointers in cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering and finishing techniques. We will provide the instruction, table space and use of our equipment. Since the glass & supplies will vary with each project, they are the responsibility of the student.
Since both class time & table space is
limited, prospective students should speak with the instructors
regarding the overall size and difficulty of the project they wish
to fabricate. If you don’t have a specific project in mind, bring us
the size of the opening you wish to put the glass into, along with a
rough idea of the type of design you are thinking about, and we’ll
help you find a suitable pattern. Class will run one evening a week
for 6 weeks providing approximately 18 to 24 hours of instruction.
Please be advised, homework may be required to keep pace with the
instruction. Limit 4 students. Instructor(s): Course Fees: Dates & Times:
